‘Dangerous’ Colorado dog bowls will reopen next week

On Friday, Dog Bowls, an outdoor dog bowl in Colorado’s Colorado Springs, reopened to the public.

It is the second time the bowls have reopened this year, following the June 14 opening of Dog Bowl in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which reopened last week.

In a statement, the Colorado Springs restaurant and food-truck chain said it is working with authorities to ensure the safety of patrons and employees.

“Dog Bowls is thankful for the assistance of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the city of Colorado Springs and all of our local, state and federal partners, as well as all of the people of Colorado who have helped in the investigation and are supporting us,” Dog Bowl’s CEO John McBride said in a statement.

“We remain hopeful for an orderly reopening of Dog’s Bowl and are grateful for all of their help in ensuring that this bowl remains safe and welcoming for our patrons, staff and employees.”

The dog bowls were first installed in 2017.
